About Kate

My name is Kate Furneaux. R.N. Dip FH and I have been a Registered Nurse for 22 years working predominantly for the NHS. My most recent role in the Medical admissions unit at Southmead in Bristol. It was whilst nursing in this fast-paced environment, that I began recognising the impact that poor foot health was having on the population and their ability to reach their full rehabilitation potential, remain independent or simply mobilise without pain.

I love feet, I think they are a marvel of engineering that we take for granted too often. How much thought do we really put into our feet? Even when there’s a problem, they are the last in the queue to receive attention. This is why I decided to retrain as a Foot health Practitioner. I recently retrained with the very prestigious SMAE Foot Health college based in Berkshire which is affiliated with Queen Margaret university Edinburgh. Gaining my Diploma in Foot Health and enabling a change in career.

I spend any free time walking the dog, caring for my children and enjoying a coffee or glass of wine with friends.
